Elon Musk’s Father Takes Trump’s Side, Claims Son Is Suffering PTSD After White House Involvement

June 11, 2025

In a remarkable twist to the escalating fallout between two global powerhouses, Errol Musk — father of billionaire entrepreneur Elon Musk — has come out in support of President Donald Trump and offered a striking public critique of his son’s mental condition.

During a televised appearance from Moscow, Errol Musk suggested that Elon is suffering from symptoms of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), which he attributes to the intense and emotionally draining five-month period Elon spent informally advising Trump’s administration.

Political Misstep?

Errol argued that his son’s decision to step into the political arena was ill-advised and predicted that Trump would ultimately emerge victorious from the ongoing dispute. He described Elon’s experience in politics as “chaotic” and likened it to an emotionally exhausting relationship.

“They’re all showing signs of stress,” Errol said on Tsargrad TV, a Russian network. “Elon feels he made a miscalculation. Trump remains president — he was elected, and he will come out on top.”

Background of the Fallout

His remarks come as tensions between Musk and Trump have reached new heights. The rupture became public when Elon harshly criticized the proposed “One Big Beautiful Bill,” calling it bloated and disgraceful.

Fueling the drama, Musk posted (and later deleted) a controversial message on X (formerly Twitter) alleging Trump’s name appeared in documents related to Jeffrey Epstein. The Trump camp quickly dismissed the claim and labeled Musk’s behavior as irresponsible and disrespectful.

Errol’s Public Remarks in Moscow

Errol Musk’s comments didn’t stop with the interview. Speaking at the Future Forum 2050 in Moscow — a conference also attended by nationalist Russian figure Alexander Dugin — he suggested the feud might not last forever.

“They’ve been through an intense period of pressure,” Errol said, according to Russian outlet Izvestia. “Give them some grace. They’ve been trying to fix what’s broken, focus on priorities, and get through the chaos. Tensions are inevitable.”

In a separate conversation with Global News Today on Al Arabiya English, Errol admitted he hasn’t spoken to Elon directly but had messaged him, advising him to let things cool down. Regarding Elon’s deleted post about Epstein, Errol called it a “foolish error,” adding: “I don’t know what he was thinking — probably a stress response.”

Trump Responds: No Reconciliation in Sight

Trump has made it clear he sees no path toward mending the relationship. In a phone call with NBC News, he warned that Musk would face “real consequences” if he switched sides to support Democrats: “If he does that, he’ll face the consequences,” Trump said bluntly.

Asked whether he was open to repairing their ties, Trump responded, “No. I believe it’s over.” He further accused Musk of showing contempt for the presidency: “You simply don’t disrespect the office.”

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt also commented, stating Musk’s objections to the bill were motivated by self-interest: “This is disappointing behavior from Elon, who’s upset because the legislation didn’t favor his agenda,” she said.

Trump echoed those sentiments on Truth Social, defending his bill and lashing out at Musk. He wrote: “Elon didn’t lose his temper until I canceled the EV mandate that he relied on — something I’d warned him about months ago. Then he snapped!”

International Reactions and Political Ripples

Errol Musk’s appearance at a Kremlin-friendly event has raised questions among analysts, some of whom view it as part of a wider strategy to deepen political fractures within America’s elite circles.

Elon Musk, once a key financial backer of Trump’s re-election effort, now finds himself politically alienated. With growing criticism from Republican insiders and hints at potential support for Democratic candidates in 2028, the rift appears to be growing wider.

A Partnership in Ruins

Trump has given Senate Republicans until July 4 to pass the landmark fiscal bill, intensifying pressure in Washington. Whether Musk will continue to push back or heed his father’s advice to let the conflict fade remains uncertain.

What began as a powerful alliance between a tech mogul and a sitting U.S. president has devolved into a deeply personal political clash — one now magnified by Errol Musk’s dramatic entry into the narrative.

The family dimension has only heightened the intrigue, adding yet another unpredictable element to one of the most explosive political dramas of the year.
