Franklin Graham: “President Trump Needs God’s Wisdom and Strength”—Will You Join in Prayer?

Christian evangelist Franklin Graham has called on Americans to pray for former President Donald J. Trump, emphasizing the critical need for divine guidance as global tensions rise.

In a heartfelt message shared Friday, Graham urged followers, “Will you join me in lifting up President @realDonaldTrump in prayer?” Citing a growing number of international conflicts, Graham warned of increasing global instability and stressed the need for strong, morally grounded leadership.

“From where we stand, the world is facing dark and dangerous times,” he wrote. “With wars erupting between Iran and Israel, the ongoing crisis between Russia and Ukraine, and growing fears of conflict involving China and Taiwan—not to mention unrest in places like Sudan—it feels like the world is teetering on the edge.”

Graham continued, “Our President needs God’s wisdom and strength now more than ever. The decisions he faces will ripple across our nation and the world. My prayer is that the Lord will guide his path as he leads us through some of the most trying times in recent memory.”

He concluded his appeal by quoting Matthew 24:7: “For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom,” highlighting the urgency of the moment.

A Call for Global Compassion

Graham’s appeal followed a similar plea earlier in the week, when he encouraged Americans to pray for the innocent lives affected by the Iran-Israel conflict. “Please pray for those caught in the bombings and missile strikes,” he said. “Ask for God’s protection over the churches and Christians in Iran, and over the Jewish people—God’s chosen—living in Israel.”

“My hope,” he added, “is that the people of these nations will have their hearts opened to the truth found in God’s Word.”

Political Stakes and Prayer

The prayer request comes as President Trump considers how the U.S. should engage in the escalating conflict between Iran and Israel. Earlier this week, the President indicated Iran has approximately two weeks to reach a diplomatic resolution with the United States.

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt addressed the issue Thursday, saying, “There’s been widespread speculation about what the President might decide. While the U.S. is still weighing its involvement, the President is closely monitoring developments.”

She continued, reading a message directly from Trump: “Given the potential for negotiations with Iran in the coming weeks, I will decide on further action within that timeframe.”

As international pressure mounts, Graham’s message serves as both a call to prayer and a reminder of the human cost of war. His words emphasize the importance of spiritual support for leaders tasked with navigating high-stakes decisions that affect millions.
